George Stiles the composer of Moll Flanders came to see our production and was kind enough to send this letter shortly afterwards.

Dear Karen, Nick and Stephanie,

MOLL FLANDERS

Just a line to say, very belatedly, a huge "congratulations" for your production of Moll Flanders. I really enjoyed myself and it was lovely to meet you all.

I fully intended to write this note the moment I got home, but events rather overtook the intention!

I admire what you achieved with your very talented group - from the sheer marshalling of forces, to the detail and precision of the musical direction, the arrangements , and the clear, insightful direction.  All of you seemed to be working towards a vision of the piece that was wonderfully clear to the audience.

I mentioned to Nick that it might be worth talking to Samuel French about making the arrangements available to hire. I will have a conversation with Mark Warman (once he has opened Pacific Overtures at the Donmar) and let you know how we might proceed. I have an email address for Nick - thus, I have sent this note to him, in the hope you'll all get to see it!

Many thanks again for doing such justice to the piece. And do think about Honk! for a future presentation!!

Warmest best wishes,

George Stiles
